5 Holiday Outfits Using Your Favorite Fall Trends

Are you ready to start putting together a few holiday outfits? Inspiration is as close as the fall trends you may have already added to your wardrobe. Here are 5 key pieces to work into your fun holiday looks.

  1. Red. This vibrant color turns festive during the holidays. Try a red dress or red lips; either one gets attention.

  1. Fabric shoe. Pull out that beautiful brocade flat or embroidered mule to wear with your classic satin cigarette pant. The shoe will be the conversation starter.

  1. Dark nail polish. Get a fresh manicure and go for a color that is deep and dramatic. Shades of purple, Bordeaux, or cranberry add allure to your fingers. Imagine how beautiful they’ll look as you hold your glass of party punch.

  1. Blush. Wear shades of blush from head to toe in a monochromatic outfit. This romantic color turns dramatic when it’s the only hue you’re wearing. You’ll be turning heads the minute you walk through the door.

  1. Pearl embellishment. Lucky you that you bought that black sweater or skirt with pearl embellishment. It’s the perfect key piece to wear with black pumps. Pearl embellished handbags, heels, booties, or sweaters are all acceptable choices for a holiday gathering.

I am happy to help you shop your closet to get your holiday outfits prepared well in advance so you won’t be stressing out over what to wear this holiday season.

Watch my videos on Youtube or my Facebook page to see how I style some of these ideas and more. I show you relaxed and comfortable outfits or more sparkle and glam ideas.

The 3 B’s in Business

There are 3 important B’s to include in your business if you wish to be successful. They will help you to stand out and attract in those who REALLY want to work with you.

I have been to many events where there are numerous people giving presentations and have wondered about specific people and have been happy to finally see them on stage. However, I have often been sorely disappointed when women wear clothes that just are not appropriate to the situation or to their business.

The same applies to attending network meetings. You are presenting yourself to others more VISUALLY than verbally.

  1. Be Seen

Far too many women wear all black. Add some colour. Add some jewelry. Maybe a unique pair of earrings or a pin.

I just had a client email me with a picture of all the people in the room behind her. She said, “Karen, ever since I worked with you, I see people wearing so much black. Here I am at a training session for business leaders and look… I am standing out in my beautiful blue dress!”

I am sure if there were clients wandering through that room, they would be attracted to her for her uniqueness and approachability. Plus… they could SEE her!

  1. Be Authentic

Who are you? Do your clothes speak about your personality? Believe me, your appearance will speak for you. If you have scuffed shoes, split fingernails, rumpled or stained clothes, the message you send it, “I am NOT a detail person.”

Are you creative? Then wear something creative… unusual glasses, shoes, handbag or scarf. You don’t need to be over the top.

Are you lost in the past or scrimping on looking current? It shows! You probably know your business inside out but if you are wearing old jackets that don’t fit well or are dated with big shoulder pads, then you look dated and that is the message you send out to others.

  1. Be More Confident

Are you nervous about meeting others at networking? Are you nervous about closing a sale? Are you nervous about giving that 30 second introduction?

Well, let your appearance carry you! When you dress in clothes that FIT you, FLATTER you, are in a COLOUR that suits you, it helps to raise your confidence vibration. Have a wardrobe capsule of clothes that are just for networking, meeting clients or giving presentations. Try your clothes on the day before and set them out, ready to go.

When you look good, you feel good!

3 Do’s and Don’t’s to Create More Revenue in Your Business

How is your business doing? Are you at the success level you want?
Do you get up excited each day because you can’t wait to start and the energy flow is SO positive it excites you?

Or… do you have some nights when you don’t sleep because you are tossing in anxiety thinking about the next day, wondering how you will attract in clients, or wondering how on earth you will finally feel like a success?

I hear and read about “ALLOWING” the money and success to come in, but if we are stressed in any way about it, we block the abundance. It is easier said than done.

I truly believe when we can relax IN ourselves, we then attract in the clients, the smooth sailing and the joy in our business. I should know… I am the worry Queen! I am a Virgo. I am a Royal in face-reading! I am the perfectionist! Let it go Karen!!!
So do I have some strategies? Yes. I know when I like the woman I see in the mirror, my confidence steps up. I know I need to do some planning ahead, of outfits, food, exercise and my week.

Here are some ideas for you to get started:

  • DO let your personality shine through. You won’t attract in everyone. In fact, you don’t want to. You want clients who want to work with you and who will take your suggestions and work with them. Your personality shines through in what you wear.
DON”T hide yourself in all black or clothes that don’t suit you. That keeps you hiding from people.
  • DO wear colour that is soft and approachable. Like blues, that say credible, trustworthy. Like pinks or peaches that say feminine, I hear you.
DON”T wear black and white so much. It isn’t an approachable outfit. It says, I am black and white and have no     room for discussion. When you need to be stern, wear it. J
  • DO wear a piece of jewelry, a scarf, a handbag or shoes that may lead someone up to you to comment on them. It is a great conversation starter. It attracts that person over to you.
DON’T take your RBF (resting bitch face lol) with you. Practise smiling, a lot, even if it feels phony.

Step into your possibilities and opportunities YOUniquely.

I would love to help you do just that… dress to attract in more clients and success. I am offering an online course and you get me for 8 weeks to help you navigate into who you are or can be.
And… it is a ridiculously AFFORDABLE because I truly want to see women be successful.

Register before Dec. 1 to have this course for $147 .
7 Steps to Confidence & Success with Style    Let me help take you there.

Walk into a Room Feeling Wonder Woman Confident… are you ready?

When you walk into a network event, a party, lunch with friends who are already there waiting for you, how do you feel?
Do you feel conspicuous? Afraid all eyes are looking at you?
Do you feel all the body parts that you don’t like are standing out 150% more than ever?
You feel your top shows every lump around your stomach?
Your pants are hugging your thighs way too tight?
You feel so NOT put together compared to your friends?

I am here to help solve your style confidence problems. I WANT you to walk in with your head held high and a sway to those beautiful curvy hips. You CAN!

It makes it so much easier when you know you look good. Look good, feel good!

I am offering you all the steps I use when I work one to one with clients, in 7 Steps to Confidence & Success with Style for a FRACTION of the cost. Why?
Because I want every woman to experience self-love, self- worth and self-confidence. I do believe in “woman power!”

You will:

  • Discover your unique Personality Style.
  • Learn what your body type is using simple techniques and… how to dress it!
  • What is your Power Colour? I give techniques to try to uncover whether you are a warm or cool palette, if you are unable to have a full colour analysis. Learn why it is so important.
  • Finally… have accountability for clearing your closet. I will lead you step by step. Then…
  • Learn my Wardrobe Module Formula so you too can be a Mix & Match Queen! Make the most from your clothing investments. Save time, money and shop with intention.
  • Combine accessories with your outfits to Maximize, Energize and Individualize. What necklaces suit your face shape? Height? Bone structure?
  • Pull It Altogether with my 3 is Key formula!

Soon you too will be receiving compliments like, “You look so put together! What have you done?”

A secret about me: I still get nervous about networking and giving presentations, however, I set my clothes out the day before and try them on, so there aren’t surprises. (Even celebrities say they are nervous before shows.)
I learned to breathe deeply, pull my shoulders back, spread my hands out at my side and step forward with a smile!
Try it.
If you have a quiet place to be first, try a Superwoman stance. Stand straight, breathe in, hold your arms out with your hands open and look slightly up and straight ahead.

After you take my course, 7 Steps to Confidence & Success with Style, you will understand how to better buy clothes that suit your personality and your body. You will have more confidence on how to pull your look together.

I Just Want a Girlfriend to Say, “Here Wear This!”

Do we ever really know what women are going through each day?
Don’t we all have our stress limits and feelings of overwhelm?
Is there someone you know or are acquainted with, who you think has it all together? Have you really let her open up to say what her world is truly like?

I bumped into someone I haven’t seen for quite a few years. I was excited to see her and wondered what was going on in her life.
She put on a brave face and said she had been let go from her work. Her husband is ill and she is the bread winner. After a few minutes she opened up more.
She has a house to physically look after, is the care-giver to her husband, is exhausted, afraid, depressed and… to add to her depression, she beats herself up about her body and the way she looks.
“I am too tired to even try. I have given up on myself. I just want to cry. I just want a girlfriend to come over, take my hand and say wear this.”

Then her eyes did fill with tears.

Could I relate? You bet! My beloved Dan had pancreatic cancer and I was his caregiver for a year. It was “scary as hell” I can tell you. On top of that I taught school, tried to carry on with my business, take him to radiation treatments, to the naturopath for Vit. C treatments and jump up at 5 am to make smoothies and healthy food for the day.
I too wanted a girlfriend to take my hand and instead of an outfit, just take over for an afternoon.

Strangely enough, what helped me get through was actually taking an Image Course. I had signed up and paid a big amount of U.S.$, so felt I should carry through. Well, it helped me to create outfits, learn more about my personality style and connect with other women online. It helped me to take my mind off my troubles for one hour each week, plus I wanted to complete my assignments, so it gave me positive things to think about.

I just finished putting my outline together for my course, 7 Steps to Confidence & Success with Style, when I met my friend. I told her what I was offering and how the image course had helped me.

If she wanted a girlfriend to offer her inspiration, style advice, a group to interact with, formulas and templates she could use with the clothes she already has, so she can refresh her look and maybe her confidence, then, I had something for her. And… it is extremely affordable in Canadian $$!!

Did I hear back from her? A resounding yes! “Yes, I can do that!”

I hope YOU can do it too, because I want to offer support and encouragement and hope to all women who are over stressed, over tired, over worked and are running on a tank of NO SELF-LOVE.

5 Common Wardrobe Challenges

Part of my business includes giving presentations and I like to begin with asking women about the “Ruts” they encounter in style and wardrobing.

These are the 5 most common challenges that I hear:

  1. I buy the same thing over and over- maybe I just buy them in different colours.
  2. Fashions seem to be for tall, slim women or very young women. I just don’t know where to shop anymore.
  3. What is age appropriate? Styles seem to be for the 20 and 30 year olds. I want to look current but not silly.
  4. I want to find clothes that hide my waist and still not look frumpy.
  5. I buy straight from the mannequin and have no idea how to mix and match.

What challenges speak to you? Do you have new ones to share with me? Please email me or comment below.

In my private Facebook group called, Level Up Your Image in Business, Life and Love, we just completed a 10×10 challenge, where we chose 10 items to mix and match to wear over 10 days.

It was fun and definitely an eye opener!

What I heard was, “Wow! Details sure make a difference.” Women were learning some simple tricks and tips.

What’s Your Challenge?

On November 1, I started a 10×10 Challenge in my private Facebook group called Level Up Your Image in Business, Life and Love.

***You are welcome to join the group anytime… here is the link.

Well, I am always surprised and emotionally touched when clients have Ah-ha moments too. Below you will read the comment from one of the young women taking part in the challenge.

I have known and worked with this woman for many years, since she is also my Daughter – in Love (in –law). Over the years I have heard about her insecurities about her image and body and although I think she has and always will be beautiful, I know she has to see that for herself.

She has been participating full out during this challenge and here is what she wrote in the group, just as we were  preparing by sorting through our clothes. My eyes are full as I write this because I am so proud, not because she is family, but because I am being able to witness her journey.

My clients’ success is my success. My purpose is creating space for self-love.

Now I would like to share the success with you.

“Well…it’s not quite the 10×10 Challenge but it sure is getting there!! After travelling a lot last year, I realized how much I LOVE dressing when travelling. I love having only what I need, making deciding what to wear a breeze. Having all the pieces I bring combine perfectly for a variety of activities creating a seamlessness to my day. And how everything I had with me made me feel my best!
From this Ah-Ha moment…with every seasonal closet shift…I have been trying to break down my wardrobe to key pieces. The same way I would choose what I am going to bring on a trip!
If I don’t feel amazing in it. If it doesn’t mix and match with everything else. If it isn’t practical for what I will be doing. It gets the boot! And I feel awesome!!!!!! I can’t pinpoint exactly why …but an anxiety has lifted.
And my relationship to myself has changed some how. It’s like I no longer feel swayed by all the images of what “beautiful” looks like anymore. Now that I know how to dress for my life, for my body, and reflective of my Soul…I KNOW I am beautiful. That gross plaguing feeling that I “need” something else to be beautiful, strong, effective, yada yada yada, is gone. I have what I need. And I feel great! No more will corporations profit from my insecurity. No more will the Earth have to pay for my insecurity.”

Working toward a minimalist wardrobe….

Carrie owns an Acupuncture clinic in Thunder Bay, called Red River Acupuncture. I know her clients all benefit from her continuing journey of discovering self-love, because her energy goes out to them too. Her family too receives a huge benefit because that vibration of self-love, affects and influences, all around her.

What are your challenges with dressing for your body? Who you are? Style?

I would love to help and even if you just watch my videos, comment, read my newsletter or join my group, you will receive tidbits of guidance.

I invite you once again to join my private Facebook group, Level Up Your Image in Business, Life and Love, and join the group of wonderful women who are joining from countries everywhere.

How To Style a T-shirt and Jeans

How do you elevate a simple t-shirt and jeans? This is a question I often hear.
I realize when you are working from home, or are spending a casual day at home, you still want to look and feel good.
I also believe your significant other and your family, appreciate you looking like you put some  thought into your look.
What can you do to take your t-shirt and jeans look up a notch when running errands?
Today I am wearing cropped boyfriend jeans from Macy’s and a red and navy stripe t-shirt from Old Navy.
To level it up… I added a simple neckpiece, a blue stone on a silver collar, and I added cute navy patent shoes with a red heel.
Since it was cool, I added my favourite jean jacket from Not Your Daughters Jeans. I can also wear it with a fringed navy sweater.

If you would like assistance in elevating your every day look, I am happy to help.
Also, join our private Facebook group, “Level Up Your Image in Business, Life and Love.”

Wow!! Who Would Have Thought?

I headed over to a regular client’s on Tuesday to do some editing and create modules for transitioning her summer clothes into Fall.
She has booked me for a year and we have a monthly appointment. She says I am her gift to herself! I love it.
She has had a colour analysis, body type analysis, discovered her personality style and now we are into finding what she needs to complete modules.
I was transitioning some of her summer dresses to be wearable in Fall and she was astounded at the positive results when I combined a dark floral dress with a pair of skinny jeans. I added a pair of nude heels to dress it up and give her height.
She can also wear this dress with tights and tall boots.
My client is fairly tall and could carry off the look. She just kept smiling and saying,Wow! Who would have thought of putting these together?”

That is what I do and I love it.
My “Style Eyes” see your wardrobe items differently than you do, because it is all fresh and new to me.
One of my favourite things to do is to shop a client’s closet.
Are you ready to transition into Fall? Would you like to have me help you to shop your closet?
Run to your phone right now and dial 905-775-7486.

What do I offer and what is the investment cost?

I explained the Colour analysis in my previous blog.
Today is Personality Style… another foundation to putting your look together and sending the message of who you are to the world.
It is $250 + HST.
What happens is, I send you questions to work through and then we meet to go over them, discuss and together we come up with your UNIQUE style words. We spend about 90 minutes together.
This is generally combined with a Colour Analysis by most clients, since they pair perfectly together and you save $110!!

What’s new:

Starting November 1, I am offering a new module challenge called a 10×10 challenge. You choose 10 pieces of clothing and combine outfits from them for 10 days.
I got the idea from another Style blogger Leanne at Classy Yet Trendy.
In order to join the challenge you can join my private Facebook group, “Level Up Your Image for Business, Life and Love.”
