Is your closet out of control?
Do you experience stress each time you open the doors?
Do you waste precious time and energy each morning trying to choose an outfit?
Do you feel overwhelmed at the thought of de-cluttering your closet and sorting through all the years of memories, poor purchases and body changes and sizes?
Here are 3 ways to help you navigate without getting over stressed and … to help you stay on track.
- Backwards: Everytime you wear something, hang it up with the hangar facing backwards. This way you will be able to see what you have worn. The trick is NOT to wear it again until you have gone through most of the clothes in your closet, that you wear often. Then, you can see what hasn’t been touched.
- Out of sight, out of mind: Try on clothes and those that don’t fit or are out of style, can be put in a garbage bag and placed in the back of your closet or in a storage area. If you haven’t opened that bag in a year, then promise yourself to toss it. You probably won’t even miss what is in there!
- Limit your hangars: Have only a certain amount of hangars in your closet holding the clothes that fit you NOW!! When you buy something new, you have to get rid of something before you can hang the new item in your closet. This is wonderful if you have limited closet space.
